4:00 is early. I don't care who you are. What you're doing. Or why in the world you decided to need to be up at that time. But its early. And it sucks. And it sucks even more after a relatively sleepless night. ugh.
I landed in Berlin 8 pages away from having my book finished at 7:30 am and had the perfect amount of time to head back to my apartment to shower and get ready for a long day. As I was running around my room trying desperately not to be late to class I checked my email. And what did I find? An invitation to the Berlin-Salem formal!!
So excited about my date for Wednesday night, I headed out for class. And when I returned...MY HOST FAMILY WAS BACK!!! It was so wonderful to finally have them back in the apartment and even better to feel my head hit the pillow...but then again, I might have been asleep before that happened!

Waking up this morning was tough but what do you expect? I've traveled every weekend since September and I guess its finally caught up with me.
My German and Jews class when to Wannsee today which was fun but long. We toured the house of the Wannsee Conference (where the Nazi's decided the Final Solution for murdering the Jews) and the Max Lebermann House. When we finally made it back to Berlin I made a quick run to the Turkish Market and then headed back to the apartment for a good good nights sleep.
Some of the many quotes from people whose relatives were Nazi officials or whose relatives were in Concentration Camps.
