Lake Zurich and the Night I almost died

Saturday November 1

First and foremost, thank goodness its November!

McKin and I woke up and said goodbye to our dear Australian friends and then headed out into the cold and foggy city of Zurich. As we wandered around we found a market with delicious pastries and then we went on a walk by the shore of lake Zurich. Beautiful view and wonderful conversation! I could not have asked for a better day!

Me and McKin sharing our yummy pastry.
We then went grocery shopping and bought some yummy treats and then went back to cook lunch at the hostel. Unfortunately we ended up sharing our itsie bitsie kitchen with a chain smoker. 9 Cigarettes in one lunch. WOW! Then we started the scariest night of our lives.
As we walked out of the kitchen and toward our room we met sketchy hall mate. Let's call him "New York/Jamacian daddy." So, New York/Jamacian daddy was here to visit his daughter who lives in Zurich with her mother. Unfortunately, he never went and saw her. Weird. He did however explain to us (in his broken English) that he was going to a Reggae concert at midnight. Whatever!

And as thrilled as we were to continue that conversation, we decided to go out and wander some more. We climbed to the top of the Grossmunster church and overlooked the old city which was gorgeous! And then after realizing it was really cold and we had exhausted our Swiss chocolate fund, we headed back to the hostel to cuddle up and watch some gossip girl. And as we watched the first of three of hour episodes that night "Creepy Man" entered. I waved, I said hi, I made eye contact and he didn't even acknowledge me. weird. weird. weird.

Anyway we watched some more gg and then headed down and cooked dinner. We also met our wonderful Australian saviors Jackson and Oscar. So, the night just gets boring and scary from here on out. Lets just say McKin and I spent most of the night cuddled up watching gg in my bed together trying DESPERATELY to block out the freight train snoring coming from creepy man....I am trying to block it all out. A long night of NO sleep!

Oh yea, and here's a look at Mckin's recount...she definitely did a better job recounting this one!
